About

Sustainable Westchester, a non-profit organization formed by Westchester municipalities for the purpose of creating and sharing initiatives and tools that help them forward their environmental goals in ways that have positive economic impact.

At its most basic, Westchester Power is an electricity bulk purchasing program that leverages the purchasing power of our approximately 90,000 customers to obtain low and stable fixed rates.  But more than this - it’s also a platform for exploring the opportunities in the new energy economy and driving local economic activity. We are actively soliciting inputs from companies and organizations who may be able to plug in with technologies and programs that can help achieve this.

Currently, 20 Westchester municipalities participate and of these, 14 communities have opted for 100% renewable energy. In the first six months of the program Westchester residents and small businesses saved over a $1 million dollars and significantly improved their carbon footprint.

Staff in our Mount Kisco offices are here to help residents and small businesses better understand their options and the benefits of this new program - the first of its kind in New York State. Give us a call or stop by - we’re happy to help you understand your power bill, or brainstorm with you about how to engage our neighbors in the exciting changes to come.
